Gulets, a form of yacht unique to Turkey, are undoubtedly familiar to you. Though their numbers are dwindling, experienced craftsmen continue to build beautiful blue trip boats, particularly in the shipyards of Fethiye, Bodrum, and Bozburun. Our gulets, which have been used for transportation and fishing on the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts for thousands of years, have been used as an alternative summer vacation vessel in Bodrum since the 1920s by Cevat Şakir a.k.a. Halicarnassus fishermen, our famous writers Azra Erhat and Sabahattin Eyüpoğlu, and books have been written about them. They also helped to establish blue voyage trips, which are now one of the most popular vacation options. Through the agency of the publications of these famous academics and writers, both Turkey's blue voyage routes and our uniquely beautiful turquoise coasts have gained a worldwide reputation. Today, traditional Turkish-made gulets have become a favourite of holidaymakers in the whole Mediterranean.
Blue cruises, once reserved for wealthy western tourists and higher Turkish society, have lately become a popular choice among local vacationers, with a wide range of gulet options and alternate blue cruise routes. On Turkey's Mediterranean and Southern Aegean coasts, it is estimated that there are around 3000 blue cruise vessels.
We sincerely believe that describing or reading about a blue voyage with gulets will not suffice. We encourage you to spend your summer vacation with your spouse, friends, and family by chartering one of our crewed gulets that suits your budget. It is stated that anyone who participates on a blue journey cruise will never swim from land again. It's difficult to disagree with this because it's nearly impossible to get a space on a crystal-clear beach during peak season. You can still enjoy the same beautiful beaches with our services without sacrificing your comfort.
The fact that the summer season on our Mediterranean and Aegean coasts lasts longer than in many countries is just one of the reasons why Gulet and Blue Cruise tours are popular around the world. Here, however, as of April, the air and sea temperature becomes suitable for a blue cruise. Therefore, starting from the end of April until the end of October in our holiday centres such as Fethiye, Marmaris, Bodrum, Kaş, Göcek, it is possible to charter a private gulet, or if you wish, it is possible to make a blue cruise by chartering a cabin. Obvious enough, the busiest season for gulet tours and shaped by the calendars of the schools is between the first week of June and September. As Okeanos Yachting, we have brought together Turkey's most selected blue voyage itineraries for you. In our article below, you will find information about the most preferred gulet tour routes by thousands of local and foreign tourists, we hope you enjoy reading it and one day you will definitely have the opportunity to try blue cruise tours with your own group of loved ones.
Fethiye, Marmaris Route
You can choose your weekly blue cruise tour from two directions, starting from Fethiye or Marmaris. During the summer, the Fethiye – Marmaris route is one of the most popular blue voyage routes for many local and international tourist groups. You can spend a week enjoying the sea and environment to the fullest by chartering one of our gulets from our wide fleet that is appropriate for your group size and budget. This route is best chartered for a week. Especially between June and September, our blue cruise boats are rented for a minimum of 7 nights. The Fethiye-Marmaris route is ideal for a seven-night blue ship vacation. On our tour, we pass via numerous bays and islands in the Fethiye area, as well as Göcek, Dalyan, and Marmaris. You may even want to swim in these unique bays for a week without stopping for a second time, explore the underwater world with your snorkels, go for nature walks in our magnificent bays where you will see every shade of green, or take your time to sunbathe and sip your drink on the deck of your gulet. This route is one of our most desirable blue cruise routes where you can have everything you can ask for and daily cruise time are not long. On this route, you can take part in many activities such as scuba diving, mud bathing, ancient site visits or various water sports in Göcek bays, Marmaris or Dalyan. These small coves we will dock for the night, accompanied by pine and thyme scents coming with the fresh breeze from the mountains, will let you reconnect with the magnificent nature, which you may not have been able to enjoy for years, and you will return to your home truly renewed and refreshed. On this blue voyage tour, you can try the boat tour in the delta formed by the Dalyan river and surrounded by long reeds, pay a visit to the ancient city of Kaunos and see King Tombs carved into the rock cliffs of the Carians, one of the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean. You can also take a mud bath containing high sulfur, which will remove all toxins from your body and will be nutritious for your skin, and at the end of the day, you can swim and sunbathe on Iztuzu Beach, one of our world-famous beaches. Iztuzu Beach is one of our many beaches where the famous Caretta Caretta sea turtles lay their eggs and are under protection. Again on this route, you can take a walk in the bazaars of Fethiye and Marmaris, shop and enjoy the lively nightlife in the famous bar street. As we mentioned before, this route is a two-way blue route. You can embark from Fethiye or Marmaris, you can fly to Dalaman airport from many destinations of Turkey within both starting points. Dalaman airport is 45 minutes away from both of the districts.

Marmaris, Datça Route
The Datça peninsula, famous for its centuries-old olive trees, magnificent bays, ancient cities and Father Can, is located right in the middle of Marmaris and Gökova gulfs and separates these two gulfs from each other like a sharp sword. The starting and ending point of this route is Marmaris, as it is easier to access and the gulets are bound to Marmaris port. Again, Marmaris can be easily reached from Dalaman airport. Çiftlik cove, Bozukkale (ancient Loryma city), Kargi cove, Datca, Palamutbuku, Bozburun, Kocaada, Kadırga cove, Kumlubuk, Cennet, The island of Knidos and the ancient city of Knidos, located on the seaside at the farthest side of the island, are just a few of the must-see locations. This blue voyage itinerary consists of calmer bays compared to other routes. You can immerse yourself in the cool waters of the Aegean from the beach right next to the ancient theatre, which is far more than 2000 years old, in the ancient city of Knidos. While on a blue cruise on the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, you will witness the histories of dozens of ancient cities and ruins belonging to ancient civilizations and have the privilege of swimming next to or even over them. Where in the world can you get the opportunity to swim next to an ancient Roman bath or amphitheatre that is over 2000 years old? Of course in Turkey. Again, on this weekly blue cruise route, you can explore the underwater world in almost every bay with your snorkel, swim with sea turtles and spend your day actively with the water sports activities offered in the bays. Or you can watch nature next to you and enjoy every shade of blue and green.

Bodrum, Gökova Bay Route
The Gökova route, which begins and ends in Bodrum, is another of our weekly blue cruise itineraries. Due to its appeal among Istanbul's elite society, it has become one of the most sought-after and arguably most well-known blue voyage itineraries in recent years. This route, which provides a week of unsurpassed beauty in the Gulf of Gökova, is one of the most enjoyable and is highly suggested for families with children. Gökova Bay remains one of the most popular places for luxury motor yachts and luxury gulets to this day. Many of the bays where we stop for swimming breaks have little towns and true Aegean villages. You can take a stroll in these genuine villages, chat with the local villagers and have your dinner at the seaside restaurants where fresh seafood cuisine is served. The main places to visit on this blue cruise route are; Orak Island, Çökertme Bay, Seven Islands, Cleopatra Bay, Karacasöğüt, Kissebükü, Pabuç Cape and Yalıçiftlik. Although there is no need to narrate Bodrum at any rate, you should not end your blue cruise tour without seeing the Bodrum castle, the mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the ancient theatre, strolling in the huge local bazaar and exploring the nightlife. The easiest way to reach Bodrum is via the Bodrum airport, which is approximately 40 minutes from the city centre.
Fethiye, Kekova Route
This blue cruise route can be done in two ways; 3 nights and 4 days, or, for a whole week starting and finishing from Fethiye. Although it is relatively a long route, it is one of the most preferred blue cruise routes with its natural beauties, dozens of ancient cities and ruins belonging to the early Lycian civilization and famous holiday destinations such as Ölüdeniz, Kalkan, Kaş, Kekova are en route. Although there isn't an option to charter a private boat for 3 nights and 4 days, the cabin charter tours we offer starting from Demre or Fethiye with shared boats can be chosen instead. If starting from Demre, the closest airport is Antalya airport. If starting from Fethiye, Dalaman airport is the most suitable option. Through the route, the unmatched beauties of the Western Mediterranean will accompany you at every corner. On this route, the seawater temperature is milder than that in the Aegean. Both in the bays and at our stops on the way, the Mediterranean climate and culture are more dominant. On this blue cruise from Fethiye, you can visit Ölüdeniz, paraglide from the world-famous Babadağ, take a walk in the Butterfly Valley, take a 30-minute walk to the top of the island of St. Nicholas in Gemiler Bay and spectate the glorious sunset. Along with these, you can spend some time in Kalkan and Kaş, which are on the same route, visit the sunken city in Kekova, taste home-made organic ice cream in Kaleköy, the only village in Turkey that does not have land access and can only be reached by sea even though it is on the mainland. You can visit the Simena castle, which is located in the city centre. When you arrive in Demre, you can also see the Santa Claus church and the ancient city of Myra. Although Fethiye – Kekova is rather a comfortable route, you may occasionally sway slightly as you will sail on the open sea to pass a Patara beach. Nevertheless, Fethiye - Kekova route has an exceptional place among the routes we recommend, with all the beauties mentioned above. Especially the aquarium bay, which is located around the island of Kekova, is only one of the stops that you should swim without a second thought. It would not be misleading to call this bay the Maldives of Turkey. Although the depth is about 20 meters, you can see the seabed in this bay with the lightest turquoise colour. Again, in the peaceful bays where you will spend the night around the island of Kekova, you probably won't be able to enjoy waking up to the sounds of mountain goats anywhere else.
Fethiye, Gocek Bays Route
This blue cruise route departing from Fethiye is the most popular blue cruise route for families with children for both 3 nights, 4 days and 7 nights gulet charters. It is one of the frequent destinations for sea enthusiasts, as the cruise time is short on this route and because the sea is always calm owing to the embracing islands of Göcek. This set of islands, which starts from the western end of the Fethiye Gulf and is called the famous 12 Islands, is full of coves anchored by dozens of luxury gulets and motor yachts. You can have a comfortable blue cruise experience in Göcek bays for a whole week without having to stop in the same bay. Göcek is one of our natural harbors, which has been preferred by many famous people in recent years. In Göcek, nature has shown all its dexterity and blends every shade of green with every shade of blue and presents it as a feast to your eyes. Yachts for charter are lined up like pearls in the unique bays of Göcek and this paradise in all its splendour looks like the necklaces of nature. When you enter Göcek with the gulet you have chartered, you will be greeted by the famous fish painting Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu drew on one of the rocks during a blue cruise tour in 1974, which can still be seen today. For this reason, the local people named this bay, also known as Taşyaka Bay, as Bedri Rahmi Bay, as a homage to the master. One of these unique coves, which the Egyptian queen Cleopatra chose for her honeymoon with her great love, the Roman king Mark Antoni, is called the Cleopatra bath. Today, you can still see the ruins of this ancient Roman Bath in this bay, moreover, you can take a walk among the ruins or swim right next to the 2000-year-old bath. Sarsala Bay, which was once the home of the Ottoman governor of Egypt, is one of the frequent destinations of gulet tours with all its splendour. Ağalimanı Bay, with its clear waters and small sandy beach, is another Göcek bay that all blue cruise boats must visit. When you type Göcek bays into any search engine, the first photo that comes up is undoubtedly the Yassıca Islands. So to speak, life ends, but Göcek bays do not. That's why they say that one who experiences a blue cruise in Göcek will return to Göcek sooner or later.
